Aggie Women Mentoring
Mentoring is one of the cornerstones of the Aggie Women mission. As former students, Aggie women work in every kind of career, from industrial engineer to independent filmmaker, from marketing executive to executive coach, from scientist to science teacher and everything in between. We have an opportunity to help other Aggies, but most importantly, Aggie women, succeed in their lives, personally and professionally. We are here to open doors and make life long connections, much like our days in Aggieland.
In 2010, Aggie Women initiated its first call for mentors and the answer was strong. We have continued to grow our Aggie Expert list and this list of talented and amazing women continues to grow through our existing and new members, who volunteer their time to speak on campus in classroom, to student organizations and mentoring future generations of Aggie leaders. In 2013, Aggie Women held its first JumpStart program. JumpStart is a unique and engaging mentoring initiative in which Aggie Women partners with student organizations to provide tailored mentoring programs that are flexible in topics and length. And come back and see our future developments in Aggie Women mentoring initiatives!
Aggie Women JumpStart Programs
Our JumpStart program was developed to further advance the WFSN’s mentoring objectives in support of our mission. JumpStart is a unique and engaging mentoring program in which the WFSN partners with student organizations, colleges or other groups within the University to create a forum and informal connection between our Aggie Experts and individuals seeking mentorship. For each JumpStart program, the WFSN partners with student organizations, colleges or other groups within the University to host and present speakers and panels to discuss topics and develop skills that help current students to become successful leaders in life and business. We work with each student organization or group to customize a JumpStart program to meet the needs of its organization and customize and coordinate with the co-hosting organization(s) to determine a date, times, topics, location and promoting each JumpStart program.
The WFSN JumpStart program benefits include:
By partnering with organizations, the WFSN is able to maximize time and effort to successfully connect Aggie Women Former Students with current students. We look forward to continuing to grow and expand our network with student organizations, colleges and other university groups to partner with and host many more JumpStart programs in the future!
