A Legacy’s Starting Point
The merit-based President’s Endowed Scholarship (PES) program has been inspiring high school seniors to make Texas A&M their school of choice since 1968.
The two President's Endowed Scholarships funded by the Aggie Women Network, are awarded on academic achievement and demonstrated student leadership. All recipients are selected by a Texas A&M University anonymous committee and the names are sent to the Texas A&M Foundation. All students are eligible, but preference is given to females.
The Aggie Women Network is committed to giving back and helping the next generation of Aggie women. By endowing these two scholarships, we hope to demonstrate our commitment to supporting students and future Aggie women.

Meet Dalilah Zuniga
Dalilah Zuniga - Aggie Women Network's seventh Presidential Endowed Scholar.
Growing up I have always felt like I've wanted to dedicate my life to helping others. I was born and raised in a God-fearing home, by my amazing parents. I've watched as my parents have become older and have grown to appreciate the amazing opportunity that they have given me. My dad grew up in the streets of Mexico, worrying about things as simple as if he would have food for dinner, while my mom grew up one of eight children in a missionary home. Both of them grew up thinking that they did not have the choice to go to college because they didn't have the money. Although my parents are unable to help me financially, they have given me important values that will most certainly lead to success: passion, perseverance, and dedication. I believe that I have been privileged with the gift of being academically powerful; however, my academic success would be impossible without a passion for progress. I'm the first born and now I will be a first-generation college student. I plan to pursue Texas A&M's track for the traditional bachelors in science of nursing to become a registered nurse (BSN RN). Beyond this, I hope to further my education later on to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). This future career will allow me to nor only flourish in studying something I love, STEM, but will also create a work environment where my primary job is to care for others, with compassion and empathy. I hope to impact the world not only with the medical care I can give to others, but also with the positive influence I can have on others lives. A big smile and a caring heart can go a long way, even in brief encounters.

Biographical Statement
I’ve known I wanted to be a lawyer since I was twelve years old. Back then, it was because every adult told me that’s what the fate of argumentative children was. But today, it’s because the law fascinates me. I adore the intricate design and the logical details, and I feel it’s a world where everything just makes sense. In high school, I explored my legal future with internships in both criminal defense and worker’s compensation. But I also expanded my academic horizons by taking advanced mathematics and physics, where I discovered another perfect universe of logic and reason. I realized that I love to learn about man-made innovations and physical concepts, which sparked the flame for my undergraduate major of mechanical engineering.
Another great passion of mine is connecting with people and using my resources and skills to lift up those around me. I can trace this back to when I first started tutoring my younger brother, who’s always struggled with dyscalculia and ADHD. It was magical to be able to ease his frustrations with math simply through the power of explanation and patience. Since then, I’ve tutored dozens of students, and joined Peer Counseling, where I learned to combine academic support with emotional guidance for kids.
I possess a strange intersection of passions, but I’m confident in my path forward. I plan to be a patent prosecutor, where I’ll work with inventors and corporations to protect their innovations and be at the forefront of new technology that can change the world for the better. I am so excited to begin my journey at Texas A&M. Our school traditions, community, and Aggie spirit give me an unmatched opportunity to connect with people that share my values. Beyond that, our engineering program is incredible, and I am thrilled to imagine the concepts and technology that I will get to learn about and work with over the next four years. I am so grateful to be attending this school, and for the scholarships that are making it possible.
